Welcome to Guelph Seminar Series in Agricultural and Rural Development!

Focus:
asian farmersThis series is to facilitate communication and collaboration across disciplines and institutions on agricultural and rural development issues. This is done through remote international seminars involving researchers from the University of Guelph and three Sub-Saharan African countries: University of Ghana, University of Nairobi and Sokoine University of Agriculture.

It is anticipated that this regular forum of discussion in current research will facilitate access to the most recent research by partner institutions, will raise the research capacity of sub Saharan institutions and foster long-term collaboration related to teaching and research. In particular the involvement of graduate students from partner institutions will enrich their research and teaching experience.

The agricultural and rural development issues covered under these series will be:

  • Methodologies for agricultural and rural development research.
  • Rural finance.
  • Agri-food enterprise development.
  • Impact of globalisation on small-scale producers.
  • Gender issues in agricultural and rural development.
  • Environment and sustainable rural development.

This initiative is funded by International Development Research Centre. The content of this website and the views expressed here are sorely those of partner institutions and not IDRC.
